Lake, Gallego appear heading for general election match-up

Republican Kari Lake and Democrat Ruben Gallego appear heading for a match-up in November that could decide which party controls the U.S. Senate.

Gallego, who ran unopposed, was already penned in on the Democratic side, but Lake faced an opponent in Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and Elizabeth Jean Reye.

In the early returns, Lake appeared to be separating from Lamb, with 340,213 votes, or about 55.4% compared with Lamb's 240,877, or39.2%. Reye trailed far behind with 33,287, or about 5.4%.
