Kyrene’s unofficial state testing results highlight issues across student groups

Early results from state assessments show students in Kyrene School District struggling with math and science, with under 50% of students passing in those subject areas.

Kyrene School District Governing Board received a presentation on the preliminary results of Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment and Arizona’s Science Test for the 2022-23 school year at its June 13 meeting.

Third to eighth grade students take the AASA English language arts and math assessments, while only fifth and eighth graders take the AzSCI.
