The Kyrene School District recently had the final two hearings regarding school closures and added boundary changes to the plan as many schools would combine boundaries to account for school closures.
Superintendent Laura Toenjes began the meeting with a presentation explaining that the boundary changes were necessary in order to ensure fiscal stability to account for a lack of enrollment.
The district had its seventh and final hearing at Aprende Middle School on Nov. 19 but held a hearing during the regular board meeting where students, parents and teachers spoke in front of the board. Each speaker had two minutes to address concerns to the board.
