Letter by Edmund Kulsick of Sun City West
Today, I received a post card (on March 14) from Maricopa County Superior Court. It was a summons to report for jury duty on March 30, barely two weeks away.
I immediately went online to request to be excused for medical reasons. I subsequently called the Office of the Jury Administrator and was told such requests have to be reviewed and approved by a judge, which normally takes 10 business days, in this case until March 28.
I was also told my summons had been mailed on Feb. 15, a full month ago. Thanks, USPS.
The moral of the story: respond to the summons immediately. And mail early for Christmas.
