A little less than a month after his best season as a head coach ended, Ben Kullos was spoiled for choices.
That led to a very difficult choice for the young football coach. He and a talented senior class just led Kellis to the first playoff win in program history.
On Dec. 2 the 6A O’Connor job opened up as the school just east of Glendale let Brian Cole go after four seasons. Two weeks later, on Dec. 16, Kullos announced he accepted an offer to be the Eagles’ next coach, a little more than two years after O’Connor made the Open Division.
