Ron Watkins, the founder of 8chan and a person widely linked to the right-wing conspiracy theory group QAnon, was among the public speakers at a Jan. 25 Scottsdale Unified School District board meeting.
Ron Watkins has announced and filed initial paperwork to run for congress in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, in the southeastern corner of the state — it includes roughly two-thirds of Tucson.
Using the school district governing board meeting as his platform, Watkins spoke during the meeting’s public comment segment about communism encroaching on school boards — and other controversial subjects — before being asked to leave because he was promoting his campaign. The meeting was held at Coronado High School, 7501 E. Virginia Ave.
