Knife-wielding robber sentenced to 9.5 years in Mesa convenience store holdup

A Valley man was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison Monday following an April robbery of a Mesa convenience store using a knife.

Cameron Davis, 34, pleaded guilty to one county of armed robbery after threatening an employee of a Circle K, 425 S. Crismon Road, with a knife while robbing the store, according to a press release.

Officials said the incident started when Davis went behind the store counter and began taking cigarettes. When confronted by an employee, Davis threatened to stab the worker, ordered him into a corner, and continued to take merchandise.

A Valley man was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison Monday following an April robbery of a Mesa convenience store using a knife.

Officials said the incident started when Davis went behind the store counter and began taking cigarettes. When confronted by an employee, Davis threatened to stab the worker, ordered him into a corner, and continued to take merchandise.

After the incident, officials said the employee learned Davis’s first name and that he had bragged about robbing the store, which led detectives to find him. Davis was captured on surveillance footage at the store. He was found by police and arrested in June.
