Kiwanis Club donates to food bank

Food, money donations

The Sun City West Kiwanis Club focuses on giving back to the community.

Joe DeBlasi, club president, gave Jesse Ramirez, Valley View Community Food Bank founder, a $5,000 check. Members of the club gave monetary and food donations collected during the April membership meeting.

Ramirez said the Sun City West food pantry, located in the Sun City West Foundation building, 14465 W. R H Johnson Blvd., is open 8 a.m.-noon Mondays and currently serves 170 Sun City West residents with food boxes. There are people facing food insecurities in Sun City West, due to inflation, according to Ramirez.
