Kings Ranch Road pedestrian beacon proposed at Sunrise Sky Drive

State Transportation Board meets Jan. 15

Setting aside $185,000 to plan for a pedestrian hybrid beacon at Kings Ranch Road at Sunrise Sky Drive in Gold Canyon will be considered Friday by the Arizona Department of Transportation Board.

The state transportation board meets at 9 a.m. Jan. 15 for a telephonic Webex meeting. Members of the public who want to observe or participate in the transportation board meeting can access the meeting by using the webex meeting link at aztransportationboard.gov. Join the meeting as a participant and follow the instruction to use a telephone to enable audio.

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s priority planning advisory committee met Dec. 15 and voted to recommend spending $30,000 for staff and $155,000 for a consultant for the new project. Installing a pedestrian hybrid beacon for safety countermeasures would be part of the state’s highway safety improvement program, according to a state transportation board packet.
