Kimble: Apache Junction school district board statement on severance agreement for superintendent

Posted

Dear AJUSD Community,

The purpose of this letter is to let you know that at today’s governing board meeting, April 10, the board approved a mutual severance agreement for Superintendent Heather Wallace. The board greatly appreciates the decades of service that Ms. Wallace has provided to AJUSD and the leadership she has provided as the district’s superintendent. She has always placed the district’s students, staff and families at the forefront of her actions and for that we are grateful.

Ms. Wallace and the board recently determined that their visions for the district are different. Thus, the parties have worked in a positive and collaborative way to end the existing work relationship while planning for an efficient transition. The board will be sharing more information about its transition plan in the coming days and weeks. Please be assured that the district’s administrative, operational and teaching functions will continue without interruption.

Again, we are thankful to Ms. Wallace and wish her the best going forward. We are also grateful to our dedicated staff and our AJ community for your ongoing support.
