Kepler: Reader tries to correct perceptions

Posted

Having read twice now in recent weeks about the misconception of “open borders,” let’s correct a few perceptions.

More than 90% of single adults are expelled and more than 70% of those caught. The rest get a court date, which contrary to Fox News, 83% show up to every hearing. Many of the rest were unable to be notified in time of their hearing.

Just for the record, most Democrats do not believe in open borders but we have sympathy for those who are escaping terrible living conditions.

Now to reply to George Aschendorf’s comment (“Unbelievable how far down nation has gone”) about how terrible things have become in the last three months. Many of us could not agree more, the shameful attack on our nation’s capitol by Trump supporters destroying property and attacking anyone who stood in their way.

It’s disgusting to see how many, after losing more than 63 — yes, 63 — court cases without winning even one case, believe the election was stolen from them. These misconceptions pushed by people who know better will now have to provide proof in a court of law as Dominion and Smartmatic are suing them for liable.

Conservatives seem to look the other way when countless Asian people, many of them American citizens, are attacked on our streets because of COVID.

Don’t think for a minute we don’t hear your racist, hate-filled comments while at Sun City pools and golf courses. If you really followed the teaching of Christ you would not behave like this.
