I read the good-natured reply from Rich Andrews’ original letter. Mr. Andrews jokingly promised to not run for office, but living in Sun City for the last 10 years I can assure him while we disagree on things, I think he would not have a problem getting elected.
I would like to offer a bit of advice for Rich and others who watch Fox News on a regular basis. The owner of the company I retired from had a saying: When the only tool in your tool box is a hammer, the world starts looking like a nail.
Translation, if all you watch or listen to is a steady stream of attacks, negative comments and fake outrage you are not seeing news, you are being programmed.

It amazes me that conservative who are supposed to be more pious than us liberals would tune into a station that has had numerous management and hosts accused of sexual harassment to the tune of over $112 million with more than 8 women winning awards.
Fox lost a lawsuit to Dominion Voting machines to the tune of $787 million for falsely promoting the voting machines were programmed against Trump, and the main reason Fox settled is their hosts would have had to take the stand at a trial and admit they lied to their viewers over and over again on a almost daily basis.
In another lawsuit that Fox won, Fox won this case with its admission that the so called “facts” presented by hosts were to be treated with suspicion as these were no more than hosts’ opinions.
Rich thinks Biden hasn’t done enough for the average person in America.
Here are a few of Biden’s accomplishments and I would like to remind people often with votes from both parties.
• Capped Medicare drug expenses at $200 per year.
• Low- to medium-income Americans received a stimulus check of $1,400.
• Three hundred per week for those unemployed during COVID when 9.7 million American were out of a job.
• Cap in insulin costs for 4 million Americans on Medicare at $35.
• The Infrastructure Bill, which will in Arizona be used to expand Interstate 10 to Tucson.
• Investing in America producing semiconductors with jobs right here in Arizona.
Mr. Andrews mentioned Biden shut down the economy, and there is doubt if this would be done again. Just a point of facts, Trump shut America down for 15 days and then added another 30.
As far as the border is concerned, yes we have huge issues and in my opinion Biden could have done more. However I would like to point out there are 1,954 miles of border between us and Mexico, which it’s estimated that 1,300 miles of this could use a fence.
Please note Mexico did not nor will not pay for this wall and it costs $20 million per mile to build. You do the math, it’s $26 billion. Where do you think $26 billion will come from? A additional problem is that Trump’s wall was breached over 4,000 times, and many breaches required additional repairs.
Our border has turned back 2.8 million migrants so far this year. That’s the entire pop of Utah trying to get into our country every 8 months. Something has to be done, but I can assure you that no one president will accomplish this without assistance of both political parties on a long term solution. America has to find a way to keep people from Central and South America from wanting to leave and come here. Until we do, not much will change on our southern borders.
