SHAWNEE, Kan. - Kenneth Oberg, 91, of Shawnee, Kan. passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2015. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Kenneth was born in Salina, Kan. He played basketball at Kansas State from 1942 -43 before entering the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked as a sales manager for Cook Paint and Varnish Company. On September 11, 2014, Kenneth had the privilege of taking an "Honor Flight" to Washington D.C. with his fellow veterans. His wife, Annette Oberg preceded him in death in 2009. Survivors include his son, Richard (Vicki) Oberg, Camdenton, Mo.; his daughter, Kaye (John) LeCluyse, Lenexa, Kan.; five grandchildren, Sean (Christine) Oberg, Wendi Oberg, Blake (Allison) LeCluyse, Blair (Kelly) LeCluyse, and Morgan (Brett) Rushton; and 11 great grandchildren.
