Scams impact people everywhere, including Sun City West.
Some arrive by email, by way of a pop-up on the computer or even ring the bell at the front door. For one particular resident in Sun City West, it was too late to get out, after losing close to a couple thousands dollars. Others were fortunate enough to simply hang up the phone. Suzanne Brown, who instructed the class, shared a personal experience where scammers claimed another victim.
“I know now just how stupid I was, but these people played on my emotions and used fear and isolation to get to me,” she explained.
