Keep opioid settlement money or return it? Glendale examines options

Advantages, disadvantages on both sides at the moment

A discussion on how the city will accept – or not accept – its share of money from Maricopa County with regards to the nationwide opioid settlement will lead to more discussion for now.

The Glendale city council took up the issue at its Tuesday workshop where members dedicated time to talking about the still-developing topic and its available options.

This past November, three of the largest U.S. pharmacy chains reached settlements with states worth a total of about $13 billion over the toll of opioids.
