SURPRISE - Kathe A. Pieper, 84, of Surprise, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014, while surrounded by family and loved ones. Kathe was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf. She is survived by her children, Karen and Roy; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother, in Canada; and a sister, in Germany. Kathe Blokzyl was born in Germany on April 3, 1930. In February of 1956 she married Rolf Pieper. Later that same year they moved to the United States and settled in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area where they raised their family. After retiring and spending a few years traveling, Kathe and Rolf moved to Sun City West in 1999. She greatly enjoyed being settled in the sun and warmth. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends and going dancing with her husband. When at home she was happy cooking great food and doing many different handicrafts. Keeping in contact with her far-flung family also occupied her. She and Rolf moved over to Surprise two years ago after a stroke left it difficult for them to stay in their Sun City West home. Kathe's last move will return her to Wisconsin where family will gather together to celebrate her life. Those wishing to make a donation honoring Kathe are asked to donate to the Red Cross in her memory.
