Karen was called to be with our Lord in heaven at age 82, on Saturday January 6, 2024. She is now with her Husband Willard C. Bruner Sr. at peace in the Lord’s arms.
Karen is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren and Rebecca (Reba) Banks of Tucson. Karen was born on August 22, 1941, in Fostoria OH.
Karen resided in Arizona for the last 70 of her 82 years of life, where her and her late husband (Willard C. Bruner Sr.) raised their five children. Karen graduated from Pueblo High School in Tucson, AZ in 1960.
Karen earned her Nurse’s Aide certificate at St. Mary’s Hospital in December 1960 to become a Candy Striper at St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ.
Karen married Willard on March 25, 1961. Karen became a stay-at-home mom of five children. She worked hard to raise her children while her husband served in the Marine Corps (retired) and worked. She was always there for her family no matter what, for a band-aid at 5 years old or a phone call at 50!

“Granny” as those dear to her spoke her name, loved giraffes, diamond art, crocheting, AZ Diamond Backs, AZ Cardinals, and was a member of the New Life Church.
Karen is preceded in death by her loving husband; Willard C. Bruner Sr., parents Warren and Rebecca (Reba) Banks, and her brother Ronald Banks.
We know that Granny is in our Heavenly Father’s Hands and is no longer in pain. She will remain in our hearts, minds, souls, and memories for all the days of our lives.
