Karen Dale Edelstein, passed away on January 22, 2019. She had her husband Edward, and her daughter Jill at her bedside.Karen was born in Los Angeles, California on December 28, 1937. She resided with her parents, William and Helen Sussman, and her younger sister Susan.Karen graduated Hamilton High School in 1956. She attended Los Angeles City College where she received a degree in Dental Assisting.Karen and Edward were married on June 6, 1959 in Los Angeles, California. They took up residency in Hunting Beach, California in 1960, when they bought their first home. Karen and Edward moved from Orange to San Diego County. They sold their last home in Imperial Beach, California in 2003, and retired to Port St. Lucie, Florida. There they bought a new home, and motorhome. They were in 43 of the 48 contiguous states during 7 years of traveling. They volunteered as docents at a Light House and museum on the Oregon Coast, spending a month there, giving visitors guided tours.In 2006, they moved to Sun City West, Arizona, bought a home and completely remodeled it. Karen joined The Women's Club, got involved with Maj Jongg and enjoined the members.During the Summer months, they traveled by motorhome, relegating their time to the California Coast, Oregon Coast, and Washington's Puget Sound. Karen loved the feeling of being foot loose and fancy free, to go where, and when she wanted. They continued traveling until 2010.In 2015, they sold their home and bought another that was a "fixer". A month later, repairs completed, they moved in. Karen loved the challenge of changing a house into a livable home, 'with character".She is survived by her husband, their son Wayne, his children, Tyler and Casey, daughter Jill and her husband Kent Berry and their children, Kendall and Abbi, a great-granddaughter Caroline, and Karen's sister, Susan Sussman. Karen is missed by her family, and her many friends.
