There was an article in the Daily Independent about Gov. Hobbs' veto of a bill involving guns and banking.
That legislation, as I understand it, was to prevent banks doing business in Arizona from flagging credit/debit card purchases of firearms or ammunition. These transactions were to be assigned a special code by the card issuing bank identifying a firearms or ammunition purchase.
This information was to be made available to the federal government thus creating an illegal registration of gun owners as well as listing the ammunition purchased by and individual card holder. Several states already have this law on their books and for Hobbs to veto such legislation here in Arizona speaks poorly of her.
She knows that the Federal Government is prohibited by law from establishing a registration of gun owners yet she willingly vetoes a law that would prevent a "backdoor" establishment of a federal firearms registry.
If your bank is one of those who flags firearms and ammunition purchases, I would advise you to cancel your credit card or debit card, change to a bank that does not flag your purchases or use cash only for those kind of purchases. You should know that if these banks are willing to aid in establishing an illegal registry at the request of a government agency they are willing cancel your accounts entirely at the request of these same agencies.
And the feds could also freeze your account and leave you unable to survive financially without due process.
Gov. Hobbs knows what she's doing. She is not to be trusted.
