Kaleb Brown piece on stuttering right on target

Reader calls media, Hollywood portrayals of those who stutter ‘a travesty;’ offers resources

OPINION — I would like to offer some commentary on the great opinion piece, The Long Run: Glendale native dispels myths about stuttering, by Kaleb Brown. I have had issues with stuttering in my life and thought that Brown made great points that the media has consistently portrayed stuttering as a negative or undesirable way of speaking.

He is right on target in saying that people who stutter should embrace their stuttering as a natural way of speaking.

Stuttering does not discriminate. It affects every segment of the population equally. Your readership should be aware that there are resources available to the Spanish-speaking community.
