The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley has presented its 4th fourth annual Renee Parsons Girls Leadership Award to Kaiah James.
The award honors girls who symbolize fundamental leadership qualities such as collaboration, assertiveness, and empathy. Miss James, this year’s recipient, has received $80,000 of scholarship funding --- and a new laptop to help accelerate her studies.
The announcement came as a shock to Miss James who was awarded the Renee Parsons Leadership Award through a zoom call, one where she thought marked the final stage for the interview process. However, after a few standard questions, she was awarded the scholarship.
