Judge wants more info in ethics complaint against Scottsdale City Council Member Barry Graham

Judge gives Graham chance to respond to the accusation

A judge overseeing an ethics complaint filed against Scottsdale City Council Member Barry Graham wants more information before deciding whether or not the complaint should be dismissed or moved forward.

Arizona Superior Court Judge Kenneth L. Fields wants to give Graham the chance to respond to the accusation  but noted the complaint does appear to have some merit.

“Council member Graham per the city employees’ emails gave a specific directive to delay funding for a city project, a matter that appears to be under the administrative authority of the city manager,” Fields wrote to Scottsdale City Attorney Sherry Scott March 31. “His ‘requests’ on both of the above-mentioned projects when along with a ‘direction’ appears to be in the nature of orders or directives regarding what city employees should do on matters under the administrative authority of the city manager.
