Joy of school year’s conclusion can also be beginning of angst

Valley retiree offers advice to staff, parents, students experiencing changes

OPINION — As Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out for Summer” plays in my head, I know it’s a time for reflection, evaluation and transition. 

I experience the end of the year as a retiree, proud of the profession, while understanding the apprehension felt by school staff, parents and students. 

Educators and parents know the importance of continuity, familiarity and consistency.  Kids need to feel at home when they start the next academic year, but for some it will be difficult.
