Joy Blythe Cowley Bolyanatz, May 6, 1926-October 6, 2018. Joy Blythe Cowley Bolyanatz died Saturday, Oct. 6th after a short stay in hospice.She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Alex D. Bolyanatz.The fourth daughter of Hazel Blythe Cowley and Leo Leroy Cowley, she was born in Racine, WI, on May 6, 1926, the younger of twin daughters. Joy was a 1949 graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha, WI where she met her future husband Alex. They moved to California in 1955, where they raised three daughters and a son. During that time Joy worked as a proposals librarian for Northrup. In the late eighties, they retired to Sun City West. There she spent time as a community and civic volunteer, working for the local library and Food Bank. An expert seamstress, Joy was also a talented quilter and made dozens of needlepoint projects.Joy is proceeded in death by three sisters: Margie Luebbers, Betty Guarino, and her twin, Jan Van Winkle. She leaves her husband, Alex, of Sun City West, AZ; children, Marsha Bolyanatz of Grover Beach, CA; Mark Bolyanatz (Marya), San Luis Obispo, CA; Leigh Dobbins (Bob) Coeur d' Alene, ID; and Valerie Beuth (Len) Naples, FL. She also leaves her granddaughter, Hannah Myvanwy Driscoll, Los Angeles, CA.Viewing is Sunday, Oct. 14th, 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, Sun City West. Church service is Monday, Oct. 15th, 11:00 A.M. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a charitable donation to Hospice of Sun City West, to one's favorite charity, or to the Dementia Society of America: P O Box 600 Doylestown, PA 18901.
