Joseph Thomas Leesley, 88 Joseph Thomas Leesley, 88, passed away on Nov. 23, 2008. Joe was born Nov. 1, 1920 in Greenwood, Neb. to Harry and Margaret Leesley. He had two brothers Bob and William; and five sisters Catherine, Mabel, Elizabeth, Alice and Margaret. Only one of his sisters is still living in Nebraska. Joe was married to Virginia Messinger in 1942; two children were born to this union, John Thomas of Mesa, Ariz. and Judy Jo Johnson of Nebraska. Joe spent three years in the 8th Air Force in England. He returned to his home in Nebraska and was employed by Farmers Co-Op at Greenwood for 23 years. After retirement, he moved to Mesa, Ariz. to live in Dreamland Villa. He and his wife, Virginia, had 51 years of marriage together before she passed away in 1993. He later married Nora Hollar. Joe is survived by his wife Nora; his son John T.; and daughter Judy Jo. Also surviving are five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Velda Rose Methodist Church in Mesa, Ariz. and has been very active in activities in Dreamland Villa. He has worked at Help Services for many years, been a carrier and captain for the monthly "Citizen" newspaper, active member of the Dance Club and the Silver Sweaters Exercise class along with other activities. While living at Good Shepherd, both Joe and his wife have been very active in all activities there. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Villa Chapel, 5848 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ. 85205, at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2008. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ. 85014 or Good Shepherd Villa. Arrangements are being handled by Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
