Joseph Funk, 85Joseph W. Funk of Rochester, Minn., a winter visitor to Sun City, died May 31. He was born in Hager City, Wis., and attended school in Hammond, Minn. He served in the Marines during World War II and participated in several major battles on the island of Iwo Jima. He was awarded a bronze star. He and his wife, Geraldine, owned and operated a Chevrolet dealership in Hayfield, Minn. Following their retirement, the two moved to Rochester and wintered in Sun City. Survivors include son, Todd; one grandchild; four sisters, Dorothy Kohn of Rochester, Lucille Gudmundson and Donna Betcher, both of Sun City, and Gloria Adell of Clermont, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother.
