Joseph Van NessSun City resident Joseph Clinton Van Ness died March 13, 2008 with his family by his side.The Van Ness family includes five adult children. Mr. Van Ness was a lifelong educator, including eight years at Cortez High School in Phoenix. He spent 36 years in education, including jobs with Cortez and Washington high schools, Washington Elementary School District, and the Gila Bend, Chino Valley and St. Francis school systems.He had a lifelong passion for golf and travel. He will be remembered fondly for his gregarious personality and warm sense of humor.He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Kathy, Cindy, David, Robert and Tami; and six grandchildren.Private services have been arranged.Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
