Johnson: Seeking help with ‘fugitive water’

Posted
I am thrilled to see our Property Owners and Residents Association here in Sun City West has a water committee and a new chairman, David Hunter, or as he is referred to as “fugitive water sheriff” in the Aug. 16, 2023, edition of the Sun City West Independent, fugitive water being described as water that escapes its intended use. I am hoping Mr. Hunter can put an end to fugitive water I have had pouring onto our property and saturating approximately 75 feet of the bottom of our block wall and surrounding soil for the past four years. This last deluge of water has lasted nine days so far. My “fugitive water” situation is not mystery. I have done all the due diligence, investigating, photos taken. It is coming from three surrounding neighbors. I have tried solving the issue in a neighborly manner; asking all to check for leaks in their sprinkler/irrigation systems. I have politely tried to educate the neighbors to the fact that their water runoff is not watering their plants. What it will do is cause damage to our property in the form of our block fence failing, per our block fence contractor. I contacted the Rec Centers. Yet, the “fugitive water” onto our property continues. I am guessing if my neighbors’ “fugitive water” practices were occurring in their front yards where they would be exposed by water running down sidewalks and street, they would be stopped. This problem can and should be solved so simply, and yet it continues. Why? I now need someone to intervene on my behalf. I hope it is you, “fugitive water sheriff.” I need some backup. Contact me please.
