John R. Umlah, 61John R. Umlah, 61, passed away suddenly on April 15, 2008 in Marlboro, Mass. He was formerly of Brookline, Mass. and Santa Monica, Calif.He was preceded in death by his father, Earl A. Umlah of Brookline, Mass.He is survived by his mother, Mary Umlah of Brookline and Cape Breton Island, Canada; children, Robin of Mesa, Ariz.; Heather of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Kate of York, Penn.; four brothers, Don (Lynne) of Apache Junction, Earl Jr. (Charlotte) of Nova Scotia, Richard (Marie) of Andover, Mass., Ron (Linda) of Apache Junction; grandchildren, Megan, Courtney, Jeremy, and Matthew of Mesa, Ariz., and many loving nephews and nieces including Doug, David, Ryan, and Taylor Umlah of Apache Junction. Also survived by former wife, Margaret Goldstein (Burns) of Apache Junction.He will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, the twinkle in his eyes, his independent and self-reliant approach in life, and his unyielding love for his family and friends. Burial and a memorial service will take place at a later time at his family's resting place at Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton Island, Canada.
