John Dusenberry, 54John Laverne Dusenberry, 54, of Apache Junction, passed away April 25, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix after suffering a fall at Saguaro Lake.Mr. Dusenberry was born in Wichita, Kan. on Dec. 12, 1952.He was known to his wife and all of his friends as "JD1."Mr. Dusenberry served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1972. He served on the USS Pawcatuck CAO-1083 and left with an honorable discharge. He was an E-4, stationed in Jacksonville, Fla.He held various jobs and was employed with Cox Communications for nine years. He moved to Arizona in 1993 and worked as a drywaller and painter with River Tree Drywall.He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Marie Rose Dusenberry; sister, Leta (Ron) Parker; niece, Rebecca (Ed) VanDerJaught and nephew, Chris. He leaves behind many friends; some living and some he"s gone to be with.He also leaves behind his loving cat, Dunbar, and his dog, Five.He was preceded in death by both his biological and adoptive parents. His last name was Cox before adoption and he has other siblings.He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, horseshoes and just hanging out with friends until he became ill and disabled in 2004.He was an "all-around guy" and will truly be missed by all who knew him – the good and bad side of him.He accepted the Lord on Easter Sunday of 2006 and now he has gone to be with the Lord and his friends.Services will be held at 10 a.m. May 10 at Community Church of New Thought, 5013 E. Broadway Road in East Mesa. Internment will be held at 12:15 at the National Cemetery in Phoenix.Angels Cremation and Burial handled arrangements.
