SUN CITY WEST - John David James Boyd, died peaceful Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Born August 16, 1940, in Gourock Scotland, to John and Margaret Boyd, he attended Greenock Academy. John served in the British Parachute Regiment. He worked for the Northern Rhodesian Police Force (now Zambia) for several years where he met Sally Waller. They married and lived in England for a short time before they moved to South Africa where he worked for the Anglo American Mining Company. In 1971, they moved to California, then Montana and New Mexico. In 1987, he was the 10th recipient of a heart transplant at the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Later divorced, he attended and graduated, with an MBA from the Anderson school of Business at the University of New Mexico in 1995. He joined a hiking group for singles where he met Jeanne Dumbleton. They married in 2001 and moved to Sun City West in 2007 where he enjoyed three golf teams and the many friends he met here. Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Jeanne; sister, Elizabeth; son, Ian and wife Amanda; daughter, Moira and husband Joshua; grandchildren, Eric, Maya, and Morgan; step-son, Keith and wife Veronica; step-daughter, Odile; and niece Fiona.
