John Cornelius Edington was born in Sacramento, CA; August 6, 1931 to Denzel and Virginia (Caulkins) Edington. The family settled in Long Beach, CA.John served honorably in the U.S. Army before completing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California. He balanced business and professional careers as he successfully owned and operated several independent neighborhood pharmacies in southern California communities. Any spare time allowed him to sail in coastal waters or to ski in the California mountains. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Andrea, granddaughters Alicia Edington and Elizabeth Tzinado as well as his sister Denyce Stirling (Camp Verde, AZ), brother Gary Gerhart (Jonesboro, TN), nephew Chris Edwards (Vista, CA) and niece Susan Porter (Willis, TX).John was hospitalized for a brief time, passing away quietly in his sleep from leukemia on November 28, 2017 in Sun City West, AZ. He was 86 years old.
