SUN CITY - John C. Sybenga died February 21, 2014 at Banner Hospice at age 97. Mr. Sybenga was born in Pella, Iowa and began working as a professional photographer in 1938. He was a veteran of World War II. Later he owned and operated studios in both Albia and Oskaloosa, Iowa. He and his late wife of 60 years, Marie Sybenga, loved traveling and they toured and photographed over 100 countries. He produced both slide and digital productions of these contries which he presented to many area organizations. He also enjoyed golfing, hiking, and lawn bowling. In 2004, John married Jo Lindquist. John is survived by his wife, Jo Sybenga; two sons, John R. Sybenga of Oskaloosa, Iowa and David C. (Susan) Sybenga and their two children of Tulsa, Oklahoma; also his children by marriage, Kathie Linquist, Mitch and Kathy Lindquist, Amy and Jimmie Black, LeAnn and Daryl Thorne, Heidi and Jon Nelson; 12 additional grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A service in celebration of John's life will be held Saturday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Church of Surprise, 14495 West R. H. Johnson Blvd, Sun City West, AZ.
