SUN CITY WEST - On October 5th of his 87th year, John A. McDonald (Jack) of Michigan and Sun City West, died peacefully with his family at his side. He graduated from Albion College and received advanced degrees from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. He inspired many in the course of his career as an educator in the Livonia Public School system as a teacher and administrator. In his retirement in Sun City West, he entertained hundreds as a singer and pianist. He lived his life dedicated to truth, compassion, and humor. In doing so, his achievements of character will be woven into eternity through all of the people he has touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; his four children, Jill, Kim, Leslie, and Kay (Humes); his grandchildren, Lindsay (Humes), Erica (Humes), Hayden (Humes), Conor (May), Chiara, and Teix; and his sister, Jeanne Talcott of Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a fond remembrance to be sent to one of them or a donation made in his name to one's favorite charity.
