JoAnn passed away the morning of October 2024 in Peoria, Arizona from cancer and dementia.
She was born on the 24th day of January1945 to Burley Lee and Josephine Cochran Cupp in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She became one of the first nurse practitioners in the country, working in Boston, the bay area of California, Tuolume County, California among other places. She specialized in the field of women’s health.
For fun she took up weaving and genealogy. She taught these interests to numerous others. She met her husband, Andy Rowe, through their mutual interest in family history. At the time of her passing they had been happily married for twenty-one years.
She leaves behind her husband, brother Bob (Diana,) two nephews Ed (Tonia,) and Brian (Leanne,) as well as grandnephews Zachary, Tyler, and Lucas and grandnieces Brianne and Elizabeth Grace.
She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Faye and her sister-in-law, Sandra Cupp.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, the twenty-fourth of November at 3 pm at the Unity Church at 10101 West Coggins Drive in Sun City.
