SUN CITY - Joan Stuart Schlutter passed away on July 14, 2016. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Samuel D. Robinson and Muriel S. Robinson. She was married to Edwin D. Schlutter in 1944. In 1980 they moved to Sun City. During World War II she served in the Women's Royal English Navy (WRENS) in Washington, D.C. She was active in many volunteer capacities including the West Side Food Bank. She was a member of PEO and Pi Beta Phi Sorority alumnae group. She was also a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. In her final years, Joan lived at Royal Oaks Community where she continued her volunteer activity. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; and her son, William (Bill), who was killed in action in Vietnam; and great-grandson, Edwin S. Busbee. She is survived by daughter, Ann Spitzer (Jeff); granddaughters, Erin Baird (Whit); and Brooke Busbee (Brantley); and three great-grandchildren, Abigail Baird, Laura Busbee, and Matthew Busbee. A graveside committal service will be held in her home town of Menominee, Mich.
