Jeanette (Jane) Angela Mackley MacDowell, passed away Easter Sunday morning at her residence peacefully under Hospice Care in Peoria, AZ. Jane was born in Toledo, OH March 12, 1916 to LeRoy and Maybelle (Mabel) Mackley. She was 101 years-of-age.Jane attended St. Joseph Academy in Adrian, MI where she skipped two grades and graduated at the age of 16 as valedictorian of her class. She then graduated from David College in Business Administration. Jane was athletic and excelled in ice skating and swimming as her favorite sports. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Parish in Fremont, OH.She married Lloyd E. MacDowell of Muncie, IN in 1941 and he preceeded her in death. They had seven children.Jane was a hard working person who was not only a caring mother but also the secretary and vice-president of the family business. Any time that was left, she enjoyed spending with her close friends EmmaJean Burel and Loretta Bowman. She was a long-time member and past-president of the Fremont, OH chapter of the Soroptomists and the Fremont Beautification Committee. Jane also enjoyed reading mystery novels and comedy although by her own admission she could not tell a joke even "...if her life depended on it!" Family and friends agree.Surviving family members are David (Susan) MacDowell of Glendale, AZ; Peter (Joanne) MacDowell of Fremont; Bonnie (Ronald) Kos of Maui, HI; Mark (Nora) MacDowell; Mary (Robert) Gantzos of Monroe, MI and Liz MacDowell of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane was preceeded in death by husband Lloyd and daughter Jan Louise.Jane will be cremated in Arizona and her ashes then will be interred in Toledo, OH with a graveside service via Coyle's Funeral Home.
