SUN CITY WEST - James W. Collins passed away on May 15, 2016 in Sun City, Ariz. Born on June 19, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, James was predeceased in death by his mother, Elizabeth Duscher; his father, Harold James Collins; and his brother, George. He is survived by cousins, Richard Martin and Barbara Campbell. James attended Wilson Central High School, the Pittsburgh School of Plastic Technology and Osceola University in Melbourne, Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1968. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1945 until November 1946 and was stationed in China. He was a life member of VFW as well as active in the American Legion, Elks and the Loyal Order of Moose. He retired from Martin Marietta to pursue his passion for golf. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, at 4:00 p.m. at Best Funeral Services, 9380 West Peoria Avenue, Peoria, Arizona.
