James Robert "Jim" Crisman, a long-time resident of Sun City West, AZ, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018, at the age of 80 with his wife Vivian at his side. Jim was born in Chicago, IL, and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy who served on active duty during the Cuban missile crisis.Jim was a successful businessman and lifetime member of Kiwanis International. He enjoyed astronomy as an avid observer and teacher and was the founder and long-time president of the Astronomy Club of Sun City West. Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years Vivian Crisman; his son Robert Crisman; and his stepdaughters, Linda Shields and Sherri Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lorna Crisman and his stepson Bernie Crisman. Jim's family and friends will gather at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Camino Del Sol Funeral Home in Sun City West. Memorial contributions may be made to Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ.
