James Duncan Skene

SUN CITY WEST - James Duncan Skene passed away on Dec. 15, 2016. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to James D. and Eileen (Comerford) Skene, who preceded him in death. Jim was a US Army Paratrooper with the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 11th Airborne Division, and retired from Rohm Haas in Pennsylvania. Jim loved life, symphony, music, cooking, entertaining, and frogs. He is survived by his fiancée and partner of 15 years, LaVerne Mallon; children, James R. Skene (Teresa), Traci M. Skene (Brian), and Karen Skene-Harris (Greg); granddaughter, Faith A. Harris; and best friends, Joe and Linda Porto. He was a mentor to Barbara and David Drejza and will be missed by all his family, many friends and neighbors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5525 W. Acoma Rd. in Glendale on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
