Jake Wilson Liber, 19Jake Wilson Liber, 19, passed away February 16. He was born Jan. 1988 in Glendale to Mark and Valerie Liber. A graduate of Cactus High School class of 2006, Jake was very active in all sports, excelling in football and basketball. In 2005, he was the Arizona defensive player of the year, the Friday Night Fever Defensive player of the year, the All Arizona 1st team defensive end, the 4-A All State, and all region 1st Team, and the North West Valley player of the year. As a junior and senior, he received the Piper Jaffray Cactus High School male athlete of the year award. Jake was also an all-region and all-state, honorable mention basketball player. Most recently, Jake attended Glendale Community college, where he played football. Jake is survived by his parents, Mark and Valerie; brother Ossian; sisters Cyanastasia Liber and Cierra Kennon; grandfather Sterling V. Wilson, Jr.; Grandmother Adeline Nellie Legg; aunts Janet Bautch and Debbie Moore; and uncle Steve Liber. Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jake Liber Scholarship Fund.
