SUN CITY - Jack Conkel passed away in Peoria, on Oct. 10, 2016. Born in Coburg, Iowa on Jan. 9, 1927 to Clyde and Stella J. (Allshouse) Conkel. Jack served in the Army in 1946 during World War II. Retired from Smitty's Market. Jack married Patricia J. Murbarger on Aug. 24, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa. They moved to Phoenix, then to Sun City. Surviving is Patricia; son, John; daughter, Catherine O'Neilin; grandsons, Matthew Walker, Beau Conkel; and three great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Military grave side service will take place on Nov. 14, 2016. at the National Memorial Cemetery at 10 a.m. in Phoenix. Arrangements are being made by Regency Mortuary of Sun City.
