From local to state and national races, Peoria residents had multiple options to choose from in this year’s primary election.
Both the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the Peoria City Council have canvassed the election and final official vote counts show Matthew Bullock winning the Mesquite District Peoria City Council seat by a wide margin, Republican Lisa Fink winning for Arizona’s Legislative District 27 and Republican Abe Hamadeh victorious in Congressional District 8.
Closest to home, Bullock ran against newcomers Tom Bottorf and Laura Page for Peoria’s fastest growing and northernmost district. Residents made their voices heard, standing strongly behind Bullock’s anti-airport message, which garnered 4,989 votes, or 54.65%. Bottorf received 2,155 votes or 23.61%. Page received 1,972 or 21.60%.
