GARLAND, Texas - Irma Moore went to be with the Lord on Dec. 18, 2016. Irma was born in 1929 to Charles and Gertrude Coffer in Springfield, Mass. She graduated from High School and was accepted into Boston University. On May 10, 1948 she married Stevenson Moore, III and within four years they had four children. When Steve was offered a job with the University of Illinois, the family moved to Urbana, Illinois There, Irma was active in her children's schools and the UCT speed skating club. She had many friends and, when she was free from her motherly duties, she played bridge, golfed, boated, and attended Illini football games. When her children were grown she began what became a very successful and well-respected career as a real estate agent and broker. Steve and Irma retired in 1984 and moved to their lake home in Grand Rapids, Minn., for the summers and their place on Treasure Island, Fla., for the winters. Irma, known for her entertainment talents had frequent dinner and evening dance parties. In 1997, Steve died and within two years Irma left Florida for Sun City. There, Irma played golf, attended functions at the local Moose, Elk, and VFW clubs and traveled the world. Following a courtship laced with romance, Irma married John Carroll of Deer River, Minn. in 2003. She enjoyed ten years of his charming company. In 2013, John too left this earth, leaving a big emptiness in Irma's heart. She struggled through the next few years, finding joy in her children and grand-children. On Nov. 7, 2016, Irma fell in her home in Garland, Texas (where she had recently moved to be near her children). She died in Baylor Hospital on Dec. 18, 2016. Irma was a much-loved wife, mother, and friend. What ever she did, she put 100% into it. She enjoyed life to the fullest and then, when it was her time; she went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by her children:, Dwight, of Oceanside, Calif, Stevenson IV, of Dallas, Texas (Debbie), Lynne Avery, of San Diego, Calif. and Shelley Littlefield, of Bideford, Maine, (Lawrence); and her six grandchildren; and eight great-grand children. RIP Mom, Grams, and Irma and know that our love is always with you.
