Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes detectives are investigating a collision Tuesday between a Nissan Altima and Harley-Davidson Sportster that left a 60-year-old motorcyclist dead.

The crash occurred just before 1:15 p.m. Aug. 13 near North 9th Street and East Bell Road. Officers arrived to find Parris Frazier with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Preliminary information suggests the Nissan Altima was traveling east on Bell Road when the man driving the car failed to yield turning north onto 9th Street and was struck by the motorcycle, police said.

The driver of the Altima remained at the scene.
