International journalists visit Scottsdale as part of US Department of State program

Global Ties hosts local dignitaries, journalists from around the world

A group of 16 international journalists met with board members of Global Ties Arizona, members of the U.S.  Department of State and Scottsdale Mayor David D. Ortega on Sept. 30 for a Citizen Democracy Luncheon.

The lunch, held at Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale Old Town was the culmination of a U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.

Visiting journalists hailed from 16 different countries including Armenia, Bangledesh, Ethiopia, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The leadership program took them to different cities in the United States, ending in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas before they head back home.
