Initial $1.4B budget for 2023-24 approved by Tempe City Council

Tempe has approved its tentative $1.4 billion budget and scheduled public hearings on the proposed document before its final approval on June 15.

The city of Tempe has estimated its budget for the new fiscal year to total $1,348,627,595 across all of its funds.

Diving into the specific categories, Tempe’s anticipated operating budget increased 9% or $61.3 million from the previous year, according to a city report by Executive Assistant to the City Manager’s Office Benicia Benson.
