Independence Day to bring Surprise closures, delayed trash pickup

Posted

Due to the July Fourth holiday, city of Surprise administrative offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4 and library and trash collection schedules will be modified.

Trash Collection

City of Surprise trash customers only are reminded there will be a modified trash collection schedule that week that will postpone collection by one day.

There will be no service on Tuesday. Collection will resume on Wednesday, July 5.

To receive weekly reminders about the pickup schedule, including holiday weeks, sign up to receive texts or emails on the MySurprise App.

The app is available in both the Apple and Android app stores, or at surpriseaz.gov/mysurprise.

Note that not all Surprise residents are city of Surprise sanitation customers and may not experience a change in pickup service. Check with your service provider.

For questions about the pickup schedule, call 623-222-1900.

City Programs

Libraries – All three Surprise libraries will have modified hours for the holiday. Northwest Regional and Asante Libraries will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hollyhock will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parks and Recreation – The Surprise Aquatic Center and Hollyhock Community Pool will be open from noon to 4 p.m. There will be no sports, programs or camps on July 4.

For questions on Parks and Recreation programming, call 623-222-2000.
