In The Know: A reporter’s personal experience with COVID-19 saliva testing

As a student at Arizona State University, saliva testing has been made free of charge for students as well as for school employees. For me, I’ve taken advantage of the Biodesign Institute’s service a few times and I’ve found it to be a beneficial and convenient resource.

When the pandemic sent everyone back home, I stayed in isolation until move-in day this August. Because of this, I had never had the need to take any form of testing.

After returning to campus, I had an incident where I had come into contact with someone who had tested positive. Once I completed my two weeks of quarantine, I visited one of ASU’s drive-up testing facilities.
