Important water project endures supply chain, inflationary woes

Portion of Beardsley project 17-20% over budget

One of Peoria’s most expensive and most important projects continues to endure supply chain issues.

Officials said the four-phase Beardsley Water Reclamation Facility expansion project has been in the works since 2020 and is currently underway with the MGC/Carollo design build team contracting the project, but it has suffered significant cost impacts, with the Phase 2A portion of the project 17-20% over budget.

The set back has resulted in the project’s completion being pushed from the end of 2023 to sometime in 2024.
